Google encourages managing your Google Business Profile with your Google Maps app.
The app gives you access to posts, photos, and reviews, plus you can pretty much edit your entire profile.
This is a great trick for quick updates when you’re out and about, or just sitting on the couch watching TV.
You can post a photo while waiting for take-out or share a quick update from pretty much anywhere.
I have some simple step-by-step instructions for using Google Maps to manage your profile.
Google Business Profile from Your Phone
First off, I have an Android phone so these instructions are for apps on Android.
- Open the Google Maps app on your phone.
- You should be logged into the Google account for managing your business profile.
- Tap on the Business link on the bottom right.
- The next page will say Your business right at the top
You are now looking at your business dashboard in Google Maps.
On my dashboard view, circles with links include:
- Edit profile
- Add photo
- Update hours
- Edit services
- Add cover photo
- Add Q&As
- Add update (post)
I usually make updates from my desktop computer, but Google Maps has all of the same options.
Since I always have my phone with me – and my photos are on my phone anyway – it’s so much easier to update my Google Business Profile.
