Fourth of July in Northern Michigan brings lots of summer visitors. People travel from all over to enjoy the place I am fortunate to call home.
I live and work in what many people see as a dream destination.
I love a visitor’s excitement when they see the beauty that many of us locals might take for granted.
The views, the water, the weather, the fresh air – it’s what brings so many to northern Michigan!
I enjoy meeting summer visitors who are so happy about spending time in the place I call home.
I am thankful for all the dollars spent on hotels, dining, retail, and recreation. It boosts the northern Michigan economy and keeps all of my friends employed.
Take a moment first…
Businesses in our area are extremely short-staffed this summer. The workers who do show up every day need a little extra kindness because they are working extra hard – and are probably putting in lots of extra hours.
Please be extra kind to those who are working hard to help you! Our customer service super heroes need you to greet them kindly, give them a smile, and feel your gratitude so they know you care.
- Be courteous. Say thank you when shopping and dining.
- Be patient when driving. Slow your pace, drive safe, and enjoy the scenery.
- Be kind to our workers. Smile at the people helping you.
- Be generous. Tip big when dining out, servers are working extra hard to serve you.
Hopefully, tourists have stories to tell about the fabulous people they met while visiting Northern Michigan.
We want you to have fun while you’re here. Just be sure to share the love!
