Adding posts to your Google Business Profile is an excellent local SEO strategy. But what size should your images be for posts?
First off, Google changed the Google My Business platform to Google Business Profile. Not much has changed, including image sizes for posts.
In the Google support section about posts, they tell you to upload square images for posts.
If you’re like me, you prefer to create and upload the right size graphic so nothing gets cropped out.
So, what size should images be for your Google Business Profile profile?
The Perfect Size is 4:3 Image Ratio
To make sure all of your image appears in your post without getting cropped, use a 4:3 image ratio.
Remember that first desktop monitor you had? That’s 4:3.
When creating your graphic, the best image size for Google Business Profile posts:
- 1200 pixels wide x 900 pixels high
The minimum size for a post image:
- 480 pixels wide x 270 pixels high
The minimum size is kind of small. I always create my graphics or size my photos as 1200 x 900.
Square Images Get Cropped
Be warned: If you upload a square image with your post, it will get cropped!
If you plan to upload a square graphic with your post, make sure the subject of your image is centered vertically and horizontally. This will keep the important content from getting cropped out when you upload to Google.
Please note: These dimensions are for Google Business Profile POST images (March 2022). Quite often Google will experiment with new layouts so these image sizes might change.
