What’s the Buzz this week? Threads. This new social app is generating lots of buzz, but there’s still a lot to learn about the service.
Threads is a text-based rival to Twitter which was launched by Mark Zuckerberg’s Meta. The Threads app took the social media world by storm! There were more than 30 million new sign-ups the morning after it was launched!
The app puts a strong emphasis on real-time communication and automatic sharing. Threads was also designed to be a companion app to Instagram and has the same community guidelines.
The Threads feed looks a lot like Twitter with mostly text-based posts where people can have real-time conversations. Users can also post photos and videos.
The goal is to foster a more “positive” environment for users, but Meta hasn’t really shared how they plan to monitor potential hate speech and misinformation.

I’m waiting until they work the kinks out.
Plus, there’s one issue I don’t like: If you want to delete your Threads profile, you have to also delete your Instagram profile. That’s not going to happen!
So, have you signed up for Threads yet?
