Have you ever scrolled through your feed to see a friend’s post about their gig tonight, only to find out the event was a few days ago?
Social media channels like Facebook, Instagram and LinkedIn do not show your feed in chronological order. Social channels use an algorithm to decide what posts to show you based on your interaction with friends or business pages that you follow.
Sharing Events
If you have an upcoming event or performance that you want to share with your friends, make sure you share the date in your post text.
Be sure to say “Monday, January 14th” instead of “Event today!” or “I’m performing tonight!”
Since our Facebook and Instagram feeds are not in chronological order, we may see your post until AFTER your gig so include the date!
